Registration Opening Is Getting Closer as Planning for Poseidon Athens Half Marathon 2027 Is Already Underway

We are delighted to share another positive update with runners, clubs, teams, volunteers, partners and friends of the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon around the world.

Following the announcement that the 18th Poseidon Athens Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, 25 April 2027, preparations for the event continue to move forward steadily and important approval procedures are progressing positively according to schedule.

Today, the international Poseidon community includes runners representing 90 nationalities and 67 countries across all five continents, making early planning and timely communication more important than ever.

This progress creates the opportunity for registrations to open significantly earlier than usual, giving participants more time to plan their 2027 racing and travel schedules.

For us, providing information as early as possible is not simply an organizational matter.

It is a way of respecting the thousands of runners, clubs, groups and supporters who choose to include the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon in their annual sporting and travel plans.

An earlier registration opening can offer important advantages to participants and organizations alike.

It allows runners to plan their season well in advance.

It helps clubs and running groups organize team participation more efficiently.

It provides additional time for travel arrangements and accommodation planning.

It enables international groups to coordinate their participation earlier and more effectively.

And it allows everyone to look forward to race weekend with greater confidence and flexibility.

The value of this opportunity becomes even greater when viewed through the international character of the event.

During the most recent edition, runners from every inhabited continent travelled to Athens to participate in the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon and its parallel races, further strengthening a community that has continued to grow year after year.

We are sincerely grateful to every runner, volunteer, supporter, club, institution, partner and organization that has contributed to this remarkable journey.

Together, we have built much more than a sporting event.

We have built an international community connected through sport, health, friendship, social contribution and shared values.

We would also like to warmly encourage running clubs, diabetes associations, health organizations, community groups and international teams to follow our upcoming announcements and begin considering their plans for Athens in April 2027.

Early preparation creates more opportunities, greater flexibility and a better overall experience for participants travelling from both Greece and abroad.

At the same time, we recently announced the creation of the Poseidon Innovation Hub and the Poseidon Think Tank / Poseidon Project, two new initiatives designed to transform the knowledge and experience accumulated through sixteen editions of the event into practical value for sport, public health, innovation and international cooperation.

The continued growth of the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon would not be possible without the trust and support of our institutional partners, sponsors, volunteers, scientific collaborators, public authorities and the thousands of runners who form our international community.

To all of them, we extend our sincere appreciation and our commitment to the continuous improvement of the event and the services we provide.

Every edition of the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon is the result of months of preparation, collaboration and shared effort.

Being able to communicate earlier with our international community represents another step forward in our ongoing commitment to improving the participant experience and helping runners plan with confidence.

The 18th Poseidon Athens Half Marathon is more than the next edition of a well-established international race.

It is the next chapter of a growing international community that continues to evolve, collaborate and create together.

The road to Sunday, 25 April 2027 has already begun.
